Spray Hire

Airless Links

Airless spray is the professional way to cover difficult surfaces such as crépi or large areas. Using no air to drive the paint it produces minimal over spray.
It is a technology not to be confused with normal air driven spray systems
The heart of the system is a powerful pump unit. This is trolley mounted and has a pipe underneath which "dips" into the paint container. A feed pipe goes from pump unit to the spray gun. Working at about 3000+psi, the paint is atomised as it leaves the gun, forming a fan about 10" wide @ a foot.
So you spray a 10" wide swath at a stroke, traversing the surface at a rate to ensure coverage and penetration (see coverage below). The unit pumps just under 2 litres a minute. Theoretically a paint like Weathershield masonry can cover 15 sq. meters per litre on smooth rendering, so if you could keep up with the machine, 30 sq. meters a minute would be your work rate (a bit mind boggling that). Rougher surfaces take up more paint so with crépi or block work the very worst to expect is 8 sq. meters a minute, an ultra conservative claim would be 5 sq. m a minute - even that's a lot. You should be able to do almost any rendered house - save moving towers & ladders around, in a day. You simply change the spray tip to change fan size to say a 4" precision fan to "cut in" detail work round doors and windows. The machine is self supporting, i.e. it’s plug and spray. No other supporting kit, generator or compressor is required. Ceilings - no sweat with the extension tubes - no steps - just spray away. The machine has its limitations: we can only accept the use of smooth WATER based paints only such as Emulsions, water based epoxies, Weathershield Masonry etc. To clean the unit out immediately after use is not difficult, you just run water through it until it comes clear. A (.pdf) manual (large file 1.1Mb) is available in both English and French click on the link and we'll e mail it to you

Rental rates
The rate depends on how long you might need the machine for, 1 day £80, 3 day £180 plus shipping. You could of course work with neighbours to do more than one house a day too. Think of all that time, not to mention sweat, exasperation, rollers brushes and backache saved.
